Rasmuson Foundation is the one of the larger family foundations in the nation and the largest philanthropic organization in Alaska. Rasmuson wanted to increase the awareness of their Individual Artists Awards program both inside and outside Alaska as well as create a unique online venue to display the work of the grant recipients.
Conversify designed a transparent 3-tiered gallery atop a snowy mountaintop in Second Life to display artistic works from grant recipients. We promoted the program by creating a conversation around “who is an artist.” As a result, people who didn’t think they were artists submitted their artwork to the program and Rasmuson saw the largest increase in applicants, especially those from rural, minority and Alaska Native communities.
