The Alaska State Fair was a perfect candidate for Social Media. The Fair is a deeply social community asset where people of all ages are eager to connect, share fun experiences, and gain information about upcoming events, Fair vendors, and concert performances.  Conversify researched the current social media landscape of the 50 state fairs and developed the Alaska State Fair Social Media strategy.

The Alaska State Fair Social Media program was a massive success and delight to the Fair and its community. In three months, Alaska State Fair captured 3% of their target audience in social media!! And those fans are tremendously engaged–Conversify and the Fair’s marketing department shared the duty in managing these overactive channels.

That engaged, loyal audience was critical when the Fair had a national crisis. A video went viral (almost 200,000 views overnight) and was picked up by national news. The situation was handled quickly, appropriately, and with a sense of authority and control that was widely praised by the Fair’s fans.

The Alaska State Fair Social Media efforts were such a success that both Conversify and the Alaska State Fair Marketing team were asked to present at the annual International Association of Fairs and Expos Convention.
